Community Partnership

At CRF, we believe in collective actions. With many of our communities partners and social enterprises, we provide outreach programmes and educational content in the plant-based and sustainable space.

  • Earth Day Digital Conscious Popup by Green is the New Black (2020)

    CRF was invited to be a supporting partner and was included in all branding and online marketing to a wide audience.

  • Plant-Fit Movement by awakemethod (2020)

    An online event that promotes plant-based diets and nutrition. CRF collaborated with awakemethod on a sales campaign for the ticket sales of the event.

  • Healthy Conscious Festival by Green is the New Black (2020)

    CRF was invited to be a community partner for the online event. It was a collaborated sales campaign on the tickets sold via the CRF unique link.

  • Tzi Chi Foundation Partnership (2020)

    CRF was invited to be part of the official launch of their plant-based platform. CRF was interviewed on the topic focusing on ‘Plant-Based landscape’ in Singapore and was included in all online marketing and branding.

  • Eco Carnival at Tanglin Mall (2019)

    A 2-day consumer festival 2019. CRF was the official supporting charity partner, and CRF members were invited to set up a booth for free at the festival to sell their products. All participants had to be CRF members and as a result, we significantly increased our membership from SMEs wanting to participate in the festival.

  • Fastrack: Tech for Zero Carbon Cities (2019)

    Fastrack: Tech for Zero Carbon Cities - a one-day business session in 2019 run by Engie Factory. Some CRF members were invited to participate for free through having booth space and participating in panel sessions. CRF board members were also invited to participate in a panel session.

  • Towards a better future Charity Drive (2019)

    Towards a better future Charity Drive by The Prive Group at Maxi Coffee. CRF was given all the proceeds from the sale of cakes and $1 from coffee sold at this event. https://www.facebook.com/events/2130601370579312/

  • The Singapore Vegan Festival by EatRoamLive (2019)

    The Singapore Vegan Festival by EatRoamLive - a 1-day consumer vegan festival. CRF members were given a discounted rate to exhibit at the festival and extended ecosystems were provided a discounted delegate rate.

  • Vegan Families Event (2017)

    The objective of the event was to create a space for vegan families to come together and support each other, as well as to welcome veg-interested families into a community of like-minded people. We had a very nice potluck gathering with approximately 30 adults and 15 children. There was a storytelling session and face painting for the children.

  • ‘What the Health’ Movie and Panel Discussion (2017)

    Without a doubt, the top veg film of 2017 was What The Health, which had a huge impact in terms of influencing people to move towards plant based diets. Our showing for 150+ people at Lifelong Learning Institute was followed by a panel discussion featuring a female vegan bodybuilder, a vegan mother and elite athlete, a vegan restaurateur and a vegan medical doctor.

  • Singapore Vegetarian Meetup 10th Anniversary (2017)

    Singapore Vegetarian Meetup is one of the hundreds of Meetup groups in SG and thousands around the world. It serves as an excellent way to meet fellow vegetarians. What’s surprising is that even more of the people at the 300+ events that Singapore Vegetarian Meetup has held since 2007 are not vegetarians. More than 40 people attended the anniversary dinner at Eight Treasures Restaurant. In addition to enjoying the food, attendees heard from some of the original organisers of our Meetup events. Then, we heard from four well-known vegetarian restaurants: Annalakshmi, New Green Pasture, Veganburg, and Eight Treasures.

  • Green and Healthy Festival (2017)

    Kampung Senang, with support from VSS and other pro-veg organizations, hosted the second edition of its Green and Healthy Festival. On the first day, our volunteers gave a presentation about diet and the moral and environmental implications followed by a discussion panel. Throughout the festival, we ran our lifestyle diseases and water footprint games as well as our smoothie bikes and virtual reality.

  • Farm Sanctuary Visit (2017)

    A group of 14 of us (some vegans, and some non-vegans) headed off to Malaysia to visit the Animal Paradise Sanctuary for the third time. Participants spent the day tapping into our compassion as we interacted with the rescued animals at the sanctuary and heard their stories. Most of the animals are ones whom humans raise for meat. Both the animals and their human friends thoroughly enjoyed the petting and feeding sessions. We also enjoyed delicious vegetarian Kampong food on the way to the sanctuary.

  • Christmas Potluck (2017)

    This was one of our many potlucks over the course of the year and was a great way to bring in the holiday season, with amazing vegan food and lots of love in our extended vegan family. About 35 of us attended the potluck.

  • Plantpure Nation Singapore Premier (2016)

    VSS screened the film PlantPure Nation at The Projector on January 9th to a sell-out crowd of 200. The event was featured in The Business Times. The film was also screened in March at Awareness Place.

  • Dinner and documentary at Genesis vegan restaurant (2016)

    Audience members watched the eye-opening documentary “Cowspiracy: The Sustainability Secret” at Genesis Vegan Restaurant, while savoring vegan Nasi Tumpeng with a delicious lemongrass drink.

  • Should all athletes go vegan? (2016)

    A panel discussion was held at Raj Restaurant, which specially prepared an Indian vegan buffet dinner. The panel, which consisted of Emilie Tan, a certified raw food chef and an award-winning vegan ultra-endurance athlete; Vlad Ixel, a champion vegan ultramarathoner; and Luke Tan, an author, coach, and vegan athlete, shared their stories of personal transformation and athletic success.

  • Plantforward's 1st lunch (2016)

    PlantForward (formerly Goalsetters) is a support group for people trying to make more informed and ethical consumer choices through realistic and achievable goals, regardless of their current diet or lifestyle. The group held their first lunch at Annalakshmi, where they shared experiences and advice on living a plant-based lifestyle. The group held two more gatherings later in the year.

  • Animal Whispers: Connecting with animals (2016)

    Peaceable Kingdom: The Journey Home, an award-winning documentary about the emotional lives of animals, and the moral struggles and triumphs of their human companions, was shown at 8 Treasures Vegetarian Restaurant. A panel consisting of four Singaporean animal activists discussed the film with the audience.

  • Veganlicious high-tea session and screening (2016)

    A high-tea session was organised, followed by a screening of Vegan Everyday Stories. Speakers were Jaslyn Goh, Vegan Lifestyle Influencer & Founder of Souley Green and Shi Min Maeve Suar, Co-Founder of Bubbly Petz and an aspiring vegan crossfit athlete.

  • Nee Soon public forum on animal protection policies (2016)

    Two VSS members participated at the Public Forum on Animal Protection Policies, where they asked MP Mr Louis Ng and Home Affairs Minister Mr K Shanmugam about the efforts of the government to protect farmed animals and encourage a more compassionate diet.

  • Vegan dinner at Bacchanalia (2016)

    In 2014, VSS initiated Chicks Eat Vegan to encourage fine dining restaurants to increase their range of vegan options. Chicks Eat Vegan organizes about five dinners a year. This time, we returned to Bacchanalia, the site of our very first event. Their famous chef, Ivan Brehm, told us he looks forward to our visits, and some of the vegan dishes he creates for us end up on the regular menu.

  • Global warming escape party (2016)

    VSS members reached out to a younger crowd at a rooftop party themed on climate change. Participants got to try out our smoothie bike and enjoy their own refreshing brew. Environmental games were used to highlight the importance of plant-based diets in conserving water and natural resources.
