Personal Data Protection Policy

This Data Protection Policy is made available to assist you in understanding how we collect, use, disclose and/or process the personal data you have provided to us, as well as to assist you in making an informed decision before providing us with any of your personal data.

1. Personal Data

Personal Data we collect from you, includes but is not limited, to personal details such as name, identity card or passport number, age, gender, nationality, date of birth, address, telephone number, email address, photographs, videos and other details you provide when you apply to be a member/donor/volunteer/participant of CRF. We will not collect any other personal information about you, except that which is knowingly and specifically supplied to us by you as stated above.

2. Collection, Use and Disclosure of your Personal Data

The Personal Data which we collect from you may be collected, used and disclosed, when; 

(a) you register to be a member/donor/volunteer of CRF or register your interest with us to obtain information and updates or apply for a job opening with CRF;

(b) you register to receive our newsletters or other updates; 

(c) information is collected regarding your usage patterns or behaviour when you visit our website, outreach or social networking sites;

(d) information is collected when you enter contests or respond to surveys, promotions or questionnaires from us or our third-party agencies;

(e) you make any transaction with us or at any of our third-party partners;

(f) any inquiry or communication made with or to us pursuant to or consequential to any transaction mentioned above.

(g) you register to attend or participate in a CRF event or other CRF activity. 

3. Purposes of Collecting and Processing Your Personal Data

The purposes for which we collect your Personal  Data are set out below; 

(a) to communicate with you and to respond to your queries;

(b) to process your membership or job application, inquiry or request;

(c) to provide information and updates relating to CRF or such services you requested in relation to your status as a member/donor / volunteer of CRF;

(d) to send you newsletters and updates regarding CRF

(e) for the administration of your donation;

(f) to conduct surveys, research and statistical analysis with the aim of helping us monitor and improve our services to you;

(g) to provide information and updates relating to all campaigns and events of CRF or to register you for a CRF event;

(h) to comply with applicable laws, proceedings or inquiries from regulatory authorities, and enforcement agencies or similar purposes;

(i) any other purposes permitted by applicable laws;

(j) to enable us to verify your identity, sanctions screening and due diligence checks as may be required under applicable law or regulation;

We will retain your information only as long as there is a business or legal need.

4. Disclosure

We will not disclose your personal data to third parties without first obtaining your consent permitting us to do so. However, please note that we may disclose your personal data to third parties without first obtaining your consent in certain situations, including, without limitation, the following: 

(a) cases in which the disclosure is required or authorised based on the applicable laws and/or regulations;

(b) cases in which the disclosure is necessary to respond to an emergency that threatens the life, health or safety of yourself or another individual;

(c)  cases in which the disclosure is necessary for any investigation or proceedings;

(d) cases in which the personal data is disclosed to any officer of a prescribed law enforcement agency, upon production of written authorisation signed by the head or director of that law enforcement agency or a person of a similar rank, certifying that the personal data is necessary for the purposes of the functions or duties of the officer;

(e) cases in which the disclosure is to a public agency and such disclosure is necessary for the public interest; and/or

(g)  where such disclosure without your consent is permitted by the PDPA or by law. 

5. Access or Update Your Personal Data

6. Managing your Personal Data

(a) We will retain your Personal Data in accordance with legal, regulatory, business and operational obligations. 

(b) We will put in place adequate security measures to safeguard your personal data. However, we cannot assume responsibility for any unauthorised use of your personal data by third parties, which is beyond our control.

8. Updates on Data Protection Policy

We will be reviewing our policies and procedures from time to time, to ensure that we are effectively managing, protecting and processing your data. Any amended Data Protection Policy will be posted on our website.
