Plant-based for the Planet

With the world’s population heading towards 9 billion by 2050, demand for food is rising rapidly, adding to the pressure on Earth’s natural resources. We can all help reduce the negative impacts with how we consume food.

Eating plant-based foods is fundamentally more efficient. Based on a report from the United Nations Environment Programme, animal products generally require more resources from our planet and leads to higher emission than plant-based foods. Reducing our cattle stock will also reduce the carbon emission of methane, which is the second-largest contributor to global warming after carbon dioxide.

For World Environment Day this 5th June 2022, we invite everyone to celebrate our Earth through collective action, especially in areas of diet change. We hope with the recipe book below which includes 4 weeks of plant-based recipes, you could look to shift your diet towards one that would be more sustainable for the planet.
